Sitting at my desk, peering at the mirror in the upper corner of the lobby. I was told I couldn’t have this mirror because “it wouldn’t look right; it was made for hospital settings not offices.”
“Ok” I respond.
Now, if you’ve ever had a conversation with a woman and it ends with “ok”, you have a pretty good idea what’s going to happen next. I got online, ordered the mirror, then had it installed.
Why am I giving this back story? Because that mirror allows me to see people walk past my office and as they walk into my office. It helps me prepare for situations that could possibly be harmful to myself and others, like today.
I sit here patiently, on guard with fear….
